Editing is work that is heavy. It should be considered hard labor. It should be considered extreme environment labor. My eyes burn, my family misses me, and my a*s is killing me. I need to stretch. I need to do yoga. I need to get up from this wonderfully cushioned chair.
But in the end the smile on my clients face is what matters. I actually do enjoy what I do and I must get back to the gym if I am to continue on this path!
Today seems like a day for quotes…give me some of yours..
“Writer’s block” is a trap that does not exist. If one accepts it then it will hinder them. If one accepts that it is not, then it is not.
I’m feeling artistic.
This year NAB was all fine and dandy. I was not sure who was talking about it to promote it or who was just projecting their opinions out of pure interest. It could have also been to jump on the media following band wagon. What I mean is, that every time there is some major event, there are those that leech a portion of the viewer base for their own self promotion. A good thing, maybe a bad thing. Sounds like something Shakespeare said.
Anyway now that it is over and depending on ones budget, I think back and say, has it really made any changes for me? Has it had any impact on my day to day functioning, or workflow? The bottom line remains, if I dont spend anywhere from 1,000 to 50,000 dollars my day to day operations have no changes. So, I think I’ll just stick to what I’ve been doing till now, let the dust settle on things, and buy things when I actually need them.
PS Thanks NAB for forcing everyone who wasn’t ready with their stuff to meet their deadlines and push out all this new technology; sincerely.
Part of the key of creating beautifully and originally is always being juvenescent.
Having an actual live account of your most special moments surely trumps any other medium out there. Coupled with todays highly advanced recording medium and advancement in technology. Having a actual record of your event, whether it be a wedding, a baptism or a party is surely an option to consider seriously.
Personally, I try to record things every day. I’ll have a wonderful database of history to give to my family and who ever values it.
Memories aren’t perfect and
“If a picture is worth a thousand words, then one minute of video at 30 frames per second is worth 1.8 million words.” Bill Tsolakidis
I actually did think of it on my own with out having read it anywhere, until I figured I should do a google search and here are the “where credit is due” References :”Online video is used to entertain, teach and demonstrate. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then, in the words of Dr. James McQuivey with Forrester Research: “a video is worth 1.8 million words.” Or 1,800 pictures, based on my calculations. So exactly why is video so engaging, and such a staple of our digital life?”
What a question, huh? Well I can tell you one thing and I can tell you another. I could quote Socrates or give up some proverb of any famous person of the past or present. I could even venture to give you my own philosophical perspective and analysis through some life experience of mine.
I’ll offer you this though; to all those lucky fans of mine.
Drum role please.
Watch as many videos as you can, you be lucky and notice something you’ve missed.
